I just registered for my first full marathon! It's the Napa Valley Marathon on March 12, 2012.
I wanted my first marathon to be local so there wouldn't be any stressful travel involved. It's also relatively flat (compared to San Francisco) and scenic. It starts in Calistoga and goes down Silverado Trail through St. Helena, Rutherford, Oakville, and Yountville, so there will be plenty of vineyards to see. It winds up in Napa, which is a cute little town.
